On April 2, 2026, the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce honored Tim Greenwood with the Chamber's inaugural Advocate Award. The Chamber presented this award at its annual meeting, with nearly 600 business and community leaders in attendance at the Glass City Center. The Advocate Award is one of several of the Chamber's "Impact Awards," which celebrate individuals and organizations that transform ideas into meaningful action. The 2026 annual meeting, themed “Celebrating 250 Years of American Opportunity and a Bold Vision for Tomorrow,” highlighted the idea that progress happens when leaders come together.

Throughout his career, Tim has represented a variety of clients in both jury and bench trials involving commercial and business-related issues such as bankruptcy, tax, real estate transactions, securities fraud, foreclosures, civil RICO and lender liability. In addition, he advises and represents clients on pending legislation and related government affairs. He has studied, lived, worked, and served as a U.S. Army officer in Germany and maintains high-level speaking, reading and writing fluency in the German language.

Tim is a past president of the Toledo Junior Bar Association and in 1988, was elected to the Ohio General Assembly where he was re-elected three times and retired from the Ohio Senate in 1995. From 1999-2003, he served by gubernatorial appointment as a member of the Ohio Turnpike Commission. From 2001-10 he was Law Director for Sylvania Township and from 2005-10 was the firm’s Managing Partner. Tim has served as Outside Counsel for the Attorney General of Ohio; Ohio Government Affairs consultant for Owens-Illinois; is a Past-President of the Ohio Citizens for the Arts (an arts advocacy organization that works to secure public funding and support for the arts and arts education statewide); and serves as the Perrysburg Township Law Director.

The Chamber’s decision to present the first ever Advocate Award to Tim Greenwood reflects his exceptional service, influence, and dedication to the Toledo Community. Spengler Nathanson proudly congratulates Tim on this well-deserved recognition and applauds the lasting impact of his work.
