Update on Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program

On January 27, 2017, it was posted to the webpage for the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (the “Program”) that the Board of Pharmacy is seeking comment on draft rules that govern registration of patients with qualifying conditions and their caregivers. The Board of Pharmacy is developing these rules as part of its task to develop, implement, and oversee the Program along with other state agencies. Comments will be accepted on these draft Patient and Caregiver Rules until 5 p.m. EST on February 10, 2017. You can find more information on how to comment at:

Also, a recent public comment period on the draft Physician Rules closed on January 13, 2017. Many stakeholders took advantage of this chance to comment, and a survey has also been provided to Ohio physicians as part of this information gathering. Updated survey results can be found at:

There will be additional chances to provide comments in the future on the Patient and Caregiver Rules, along with the Physician Rules and other Program rules.
