Spengler Nathanson Welcomes Bill Meyer

Long-time Toledo attorney Bill Meyer joined Spengler Nathanson in May 2015, in an of-counsel capacity. Bill practices primarily in the areas of immigration and nationality law and has represented thousands of individuals in their quests to become U.S. permanent residents and citizens. He has also represented a diverse variety of employers in solving their personnel needs through legal employment of qualified foreign nationals.

Bill is currently the Chairman of the Board of Advisers of the Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio, and also serves on the Board of Directors of the International Institute. He previously served as a Board member and Vice-President of the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, and twice traveled to El Salvador on Habitat building missions. Bill recently completed six years of service to the Toledo Bar Association as a member of the Board of Directors. He is rated “AV” (preeminent-highest level of professional excellence) by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and has been included in “The Best Lawyers in America” under immigration and nationality law for over twenty years.

In 2001, Bill received the Community Service Award from the Toledo Bar Association for his activities for various community service organizations. Also in 2001, he received the Public Interest Law Award from ABLE/Legal Services of Northwest Ohio recognizing his advocacy for immigrants in the Toledo Area. In October 2014, Bill received the Jack Schlageter Award from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo recognizing his volunteer work on behalf of those in need. He has served as President of Parish Council at the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament and previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He is married to the former Valerie Jan Hinds, and has four children and three grandchildren.
